THREE TEAMS –
THREE CANOES
A professor of biology, a doctor, a world-class athlete, a green-tech engineer, an educator and a criminologist are on a mission to unpack a lifetime of emotional baggage and redefine how they measure success by challenging each other to a race down the Peruvian Amazon.
’the race is a metaphor for how most of us are living our lives.’
What we are doing to our planet, we are doing to ourselves
The Canoe Challenge will take six explorers through the unspoilt Amazon rainforest where they will immerse themselves in the wisdom of the natural world and indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon.
As the journey along the river progresses, each of them will then witness the scars of illegal logging and feel the uncomfortable presence of drug trafficking and gold mining as a desire for economic survival and financial gain takes priority over protecting biological wealth and health.
OUR JOURNEY IS AN EXPLORATION OF TWO OF THE WORLD’S MOST PRESSING, INTERCONNECTED CHALLENGES
• How can we optimise our physical adaptability, mental clarity and emotional health?
• How can we reconnect with nature and contribute to the survival of our planet?
MISSION AND VISION
We have never been wealthier and yet there have never been more mental health problems, anxiety, depression, suicide and homelessness.
OUR MISSION: To reveal how it is possible to ‘let go’ of limiting beliefs and behaviours that are sabotaging us and tap into our inner strength and mental resilience in a way that enables us to become adaptable and build better relationships with ourselves, others and our natural planet.
OUR VISION: is to show individuals and society that there is a more balanced way of interacting with ourselves, others and our environment, that will improve how we express ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally and also address our mental health pandemic and environmental crisis.
You have to feel it,
to heal it
As all three teams prepare for their Amazon adventure, they get the opportunity to meet experts in ‘The Science of Success’ and ‘The Art of Living’ who offer practical life skills: ‘Wisdom Gifts’.
These mind-body practices will require these explorers to come back to their senses
and develop self-awareness and a sensitivity to how their interactions impact others
and our environment.
Emotional intelligence teachers, mindfulness and meditation practioners and experts
in generational trauma, resilience, focused attention, breath-work, movement and re-wilding will teach them scientifically proven life skills that will enable them to thrive not
just survive.
World Experts Include Nicole Schwab, Prof. Paul Gilbert, Dr. Dean Kriellaars,
Caron McCaffery, Dr. Daniel Ellenberg, Erik Fernholm & Gib Bulloch.
